While we are unable to meet in-person, the RHM Symposium Committee<\/a> worked hard to \u00a0create an online environment dedicated to enriching the RHM community through conversations and discussions, which kept the spirit of the in-person symposia alive and well. This fourth iteration of the biennial symposium was dedicated to thinking through and to challenging our own identity as a field.<\/a><\/p>\n

We gathered virtually \u00a0on\u00a0September 10-11, 2020\u00a0<\/strong>to continue our discussions focused on the rhetoric of health and medicine.\u00a0Take a look at the schedule<\/a> and and descriptions of the plenary sessions<\/a> and our discussion hubs<\/a>, which were like workshops to generate rich discussions around the topics. You can find summaries of the sessions in case there was something you wanted to refer back to or you are interested in learning more.<\/p>\n

The Works-in-progress session<\/a> on Friday was reserved for those who were accepted through a peer review process, and it remains one of the more unique features of the RHM Symposium since it provides small groups a dedicated time to workshop their work in progress. Take a moment to find out what the participants<\/a> are working on! If you work in the area of RHM, you should consider submitting a proposal for the next time around!<\/p>\n

We also handed a few awards<\/a> and acknowledge a recent reviewing award for the journal, RHM<\/em>.<\/a> Take a moment to congratulate these winners along with us!<\/p>\n
