Description of Work:
McKinley is an Assistant Professor of English at George Mason University. He studies queer rhetorics, technical communication, community-based research, and sexual health risk communication, particularly around HIV/AIDS. His current research project investigates how young people living with HIV develop and deploy situated sexual health risk expertise and suggests that public health institutions may look to these forms of expertise as models for HIV risk communication.
