Description of Work

My book project, Deaf Rhetoric: An Ecology of Health communication, guides current and prospective healthcare professionals, hospital administrators, and medical interpreters in the United States and internationally in ways to communicate better with deaf and hard-of-hearing patients in healthcare settings. My book is written by an international deaf patient and researcher from Japan who uses English and ASL as non-native languages.
