Ph.D. Student

University of Minnesota

Description of Work:

I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Scientific and Technical Communication at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. My research interests encompass topics of technical communication, the rhetoric of health and medicine, pandemics, risk communication, archives, social justice, and pedagogy. Prior to pursuing my Ph.D., I spent 5+ years working in nursing homes, online clinics, and inpatient hospitals across Minnesota in administrative roles. Current ongoing projects include involvement with the graduate student mentoring subcommittee for the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC-GSC), and working with the mentoring committee for the Online Writing Centers Association (OWCA). I have two works forthcoming in print; one on graduate student current issues with the CPTSC-GSC and a co-authored chapter on mentor programs with Drs. Lee-Ann Kastman Breuch and Ann Hill Duin, as well as an extended abstract and poster presentation at the SIGDOC SRC competition in October 2021.
