Brittany Smart (she/her/hers)
Graduate Teaching Assistant
University of Louisville
Description of Work:
My research interests include the rhetoric of health and medicine, narrative studies in research and writing, feminist theory and pedagogy, digital/multimodal literacy, and teaching information literacy in first-year writing courses. Currently, I am working on three specific projects, which include researching affective rhetorics in COVID-19 illness narratives, uncovering and investigating problematic rhetoric and narratives in medical literature and research archives, and examining how hospital administration regulatory documents are interpreted and taken up in practice by physicians, particularly in emergent health crises.
