Description of Work

As of July 2021, Anna V. Knutson serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Academic and Technical Writing Program at the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia. Her past research has explored writing knowledge transfer, especially between academic and non-academic contexts, as well as students and faculty in transition. After serving for three years as a pre-tenure writing program administrator, she has become increasingly interested in academic labor and the well-being of faculty and administrators, particularly in terms of geographical location and quality of life. Her work can be found in Across the Disciplines, College English, Composition Forum, Computers and Composition, Kairos, The Writing Across the Curriculum Journal, and WPA: Writing Program Administration, as well as the books Developing Writers in Higher Education: A Longitudinal Study and Class in the Composition Classroom: Pedagogy and the Working Class, and the forthcoming collections Multimodal Composition and Writing Transfer and Writing Beyond the University: Implications for Fostering Writers’ Lifelong Learning and Agency.
