Description of Work:
I’m a PhD candidate in Rhetoric, Politics, and Culture at UW-Madison. My research focuses on the problematic of subalternity along the two axes of knowledge production and political economy. From an epistemic perspective, I look at the ways in which subaltern communities produce knowledge in a visceral manner. From a political economic perspective, I locate such visceral knowledge production processes within colonial and neocolonial structures of power in order to investigate the viscerality of the subaltern body as a political economic concept that emerges through the historical linage of colonization and epistemic violence.
