Description of your work
Hello! I’ve recently started as an assistant professor of English at North Central College. My research centers on issues of technology care and use in situations of disability and health. In particular, my recent work examines how families and children with complex communication needs learn to interact with and through communication technology. I’m interested in how the popular and technical rhetoric surrounding these technologies relate to families’ experiences with technology use and adoption. My work also examines how technical information and tech companies position disability and agency in the documentation and media surrounding communication technologies.
