We will again be selecting award winners for the top works-in-progress, which we see as those works that hold particular promise for their contribution to RHM.
In 2017, the symposium organizers made the decision to give two awards that carry the name of two distinguished leaders in RHM.
- Judy Segal Top Paper Award
Given in honor of Judy Segal’s influential scholarship in the field of RHM - Barbara Heifferon Graduate Student Fellowship
given to the top paper by a graduate student to honor Barbara’s commitment to mentoring, inclusivity, and growing the field
The top papers are determined by the planning committee. The committee can, if warranted, select papers for the Distinguished Paper Award. The co-editors of Rhetoric of Health and Medicine will offer to work with award winner for submission to the journal, though they are not required to.
